All-on-four is the name for treatment where a full set of teeth are fixed to just four dental implants. A dental implant is a small titanium screw which acts as a replacement tooth root when a single tooth, multiple teeth or all of the teeth are missing. They are carefully and precisely placed into the jawbone where surrounding bone will grow around and fuse onto the implant in a process known as osseo-integration. This forms a strong foundation for the final teeth to be secured.

How are dental implants placed?

Dental implants are fixed into jawbone, and we can provide patients with implant treatments even where there is very little jaw structure available. This may be due to previous infection, long standing use of dentures, cancer or trauma.

How long does All-on-four take?

There are two stages to All-on-four: the healing period after having an implant placed, which takes two to three months, and then your final teeth fitting once the implants have fully integrated. You’ll have temporary teeth fitted during the initial healing time, so you’ll have that instant transformation and see the potential for your new smile.
Once the implants have fully healed in place, a couple of appointments which don’t involve further surgery are then used to construct the final teeth and create your new, permanent smile.

What happens in a consultation for dental implants and All-on-four?

You will sit down with Dr André who will carry out an in-depth clinical assessment and then talk through all of the available options. You will be made aware of the commitment required from you for successful treatment, for example you may be asked to stop smoking, and advised on the best follow up care such as regular dental hygiene appointments. There are very few patients we are unable to help - so don’t hesitate, get in touch today.

Are you struggling with missing teeth or loose dentures? Wish you could laugh, smile and eat like you used to?

What is All-on-four treatment?

The All-on-four procedure restores your full upper or lower, or both, arch of teeth by placing four dental implants in your jaw. A permanent dental bridge is then fixed to these implants, meaning it won’t move or slip around in your mouth.

How can All-on-four dental implants help me?

If you’re already struggling with missing or damaged teeth, you likely know the irritation of ill-fitting dentures and failing bridges and the impact these can have on your day to day life when talking and eating.

Not only that, but missing teeth can lead to further problems in your mouth as the remaining teeth move within the gaps. You may experience bite problems, headaches, jaw misalignment and tension (TMD), and you’ll be at risk of gum disease and further bone loss.
